esl blue(s) Main Index
Another site with lots of exercises for students to use in the computer rooms or at home. This Canadian site allows students to test their grammar then suggests exercises for strengthening their weak areas. Aimed at pre-int to upper int, mostly grammar focus with a few vocab exercises towards the bottom of the page.

PET test practice activities

PET Practice test activities
This site by "BITS Interactive"has a large collection of Prelimary English Test practice materials that students could work through in the CALL lab after class. The following statement from the site lists where the materials have come from...

"Exercise Sets are adapted from material in Cambridge Practice Test for PET by Louise Hashemi and Barabara Thomas, Cambridge University Press, 1999; PET Practice Tests 1 by Diana Fried-Booth and Louise Hashemi, Cambridge University Press, 1988; PET Practice Tests 2 by Diana Fried-Booth and Louise Hashemi, Cambridge University Press, 1991; and Cambridge Preliminary English Test 2 - Examination papers from the University of Cambridge Local Examinations Syndicate, Cambridge University Press, 1997."
There is no "about us" type information so I am not sure what the copyright situation is ??? anyway there is so little online for PET that its worth a look.

ESLnotes.com - The English Learner Movie Guides

ESLnotes.com - The English Learner Movie Guides

This site features detailed notes for over 50 movies suggested for ESL class use. Notes cover plot summary, a list of characters and an extensive (perhaps a little too extensive..lol) glossary. There are also questions suitable for esl class discussions. Most of the movies featured are from the last few years.

A word of warning... The notes can be very long so check it out on screen before you push print!
